Test Fixture Design and End-of-Line Test Equipment
Every product EMC designs comes with the equipment needed to test it: functional test fixtures, bed-of-nails adapters and end-of-line (EOL) test machines, designed in-house together with the electronics. That is how a prototype becomes a product that can be produced in volume with repeatable quality.
What we design and build
- Functional test fixtures for PCBAs and finished devices, with power, I/O, communication interfaces and firmware programming.
- Bed-of-nails adapters that contact the internal test pads of the board — the same know-how behind the hardware fault injection systems of our Novasom brand.
- End-of-line test machines for 100% testing in volume production, with pass/fail logging and traceability.
- Test software and sequences, from automated test scripts to operator interfaces.
- Environmental validation in our thermal chamber: burn-in, temperature cycling, accelerated ageing.
Designed with the product, not after it
Because the same team designs the electronics and the test equipment, test points, programming access and fixture interfaces are planned in the layout (design for test). The result: shorter industrialization, fewer surprises at the first production batch and test coverage you can document.
Example: for a secure USB token on a 10-layer, 6 × 1 cm PCB, EMC designed an end-of-line test machine in-house; the first batch of 1,500 units was produced with zero faults.
